These Improving Chemical Safety Workshops are part of the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) outreach efforts during Florida’s Hazardous Materials Awareness Week, February 10-16, 2013. Topics to be covered include the following. Emergency Planning, Preparedness and Response - Office of Emergency Response, Department of Environmental Protection Changes to Tier II Reporting Requirement Improving Chemical Safety at all facilities that use hazardous materials is important to all of us. These workshops provided training to help improve workplace safety. Reporting changes for facilities registered under the Emergency Planning and Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) were also explained. The workshops were funded through a U.S. Department of Transportation grant administered by the Florida Division of Emergency Management.
